Attracting Billions: Fiji’s Ambitious Investment Projects

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica has announced that Investment Fiji is currently managing a pipeline of 184 projects valued at $6.2 billion, up from $4.3 billion. In addressing the 2024-2025 National Budget, Kamikamica emphasized that a significant factor in attracting billions of dollars in investment is the ‘Ease of Doing Business Project.’ This initiative features a digital ‘BusinessNow Fiji portal,’ designed to serve as a virtual one-stop platform for investors.

Kamikamica highlighted the critical role of international trade in Fiji’s economy, noting that the Ministry has been working to negotiate better trade terms for Fiji within the 14-member Indo-Pacific Economic Framework.

“Investors will now have a single platform encompassing 16 government agencies and providing 25 e-Services by 2025. Starting a business and obtaining construction permits will become more streamlined, opening up endless opportunities,” Kamikamica stated.

He mentioned that the Government plans to launch this new portal soon.
