Asco Motors has issued a warning to the public regarding the purchase of the Landcruiser 70 VD diesel turbo model vehicles. The company has announced through the South Pacific Stock Exchange that it is in the process of locating 16 imported vehicles that do not meet Toyota Motor Corporation’s (TMC) internal standards for Euro4 emissions compliance.

In the official statement, Asco Motors emphasized that all other vehicles they sell in Fiji are certified to Euro5 standards. Following these developments, TMC has decided to stop all production and sales of the Landcruiser 70 VD Diesel Turbo Engine models.

For Fijian customers who currently own this model, Asco Motors has offered options to either receive a refund or replace their vehicle at no cost with a model equipped with a ‘GD’ engine. Additionally, the company plans to return all non-compliant Landcruiser 70 vehicles to their port of origin, ensuring a swift resolution for the affected customers.

Consumers are strongly advised against purchasing any Landcruiser 70 VD diesel turbo model vehicles moving forward.

This situation highlights Asco Motors’ commitment to compliance and customer satisfaction. While it is unfortunate that some vehicles do not meet emissions standards, Asco Motors is taking proactive steps to rectify the issue.

In conclusion, while recalls can be concerning for consumers, Asco Motors’ swift action to address the problem and provide alternatives for affected customers demonstrates a strong commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
