Asco Motors has issued a warning to consumers not to buy the Landcruiser 70 VD diesel turbo model vehicles due to compliance issues. This announcement was made through the South Pacific Stock Exchange, where the company revealed that they are currently working to identify 16 units of this model that were imported but failed to meet Toyota Motor Corporation’s internal Euro4 standards.

In their statement, Asco Motors confirmed that all other vehicles they sell in Fiji comply with the Euro5 standard. As a result, Toyota Motor Corporation has decided to cease all production and sales of the Landcruiser 70 VD Diesel Turbo Engine model.

Customers who have already purchased this vehicle will be presented with two options: they can either receive a full refund or replace their vehicle with a ‘GD’ engine model at no additional cost. Furthermore, all non-compliant VD model Landcruiser 70 vehicles will be returned to their port of origin, with Asco Motors prioritizing the swift return of these vehicles.

Asco Motors strongly advises the public to refrain from purchasing the Landcruiser 70 VD diesel turbo model.

This proactive approach by Asco Motors to address compliance issues is a positive step towards ensuring consumer safety and maintaining quality standards in the automotive market. It reflects the company’s commitment to transparency and customer service, which is crucial in building trust within the community.

In summary, Asco Motors’ decision to halt sales of the non-compliant Landcruiser model demonstrates their dedication to upholding necessary safety standards and protecting consumer interests.
