Asco Foundation Drives Change with New Hilux Donation to Diabetes Fiji

The Asco Foundation has provided a 4×4 Hilux vehicle to Diabetes Fiji as part of its ongoing commitment to combatting diabetes, a growing issue in local communities.

During the handover last week, Ronald Kumar, the chief executive officer of Asco Motors and a trustee of the Asco Foundation, emphasized the significance of the donation. “Today, we celebrate not just the donation of a vehicle, but the strengthening of our commitment to the health and well-being of our community,” he stated.

Kumar expressed appreciation for the vital work done by Diabetes Fiji, noting that the vehicle will enhance their outreach efforts, enable health screenings, and facilitate essential education on diabetes management. The Hilux is designed to navigate the diverse terrains of the region, making it an ideal choice for accessing both rural and urban areas.

This capability is critical for reaching underserved populations who may lack adequate access to healthcare services. Taarvish Akbhar, chair of the Diabetes Fiji board, recognized the importance of Asco Foundation’s support and mentioned that the vehicle would play a crucial role in furthering their mission to educate and assist individuals affected by diabetes.

“It will allow us to extend our reach and provide much-needed services to our communities, ultimately improving the quality of life for many individuals,” he remarked.

Asco Foundation’s contribution aligns with its tradition of giving back to the community and is part of a larger initiative aimed at promoting health and wellness. Kumar stated, “We believe that corporate responsibility extends beyond business operations; it encompasses a commitment to fostering healthier communities. By partnering with organizations like Diabetes Fiji, we aim to make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.”
