Asco Foundation Drives Change for Diabetes Fiji

The Asco Foundation has contributed a 4×4 Hilux vehicle to Diabetes Fiji, reinforcing its commitment to combat diabetes, which is increasingly becoming a serious issue in local communities.

During the vehicle handover last week, Ronald Kumar, the chief executive officer of Asco Motors and trustee of the Asco Foundation, noted, “Today, we celebrate not just the donation of a vehicle, but the strengthening of our commitment to the health and well-being of our community.”

Kumar emphasized the importance of the work done by Diabetes Fiji and expressed honor in supporting their mission. The vehicle will enhance their ability to conduct health screenings and provide essential education regarding diabetes management.

The 4×4 Hilux is designed to handle various terrains, allowing Diabetes Fiji to access both rural and urban areas effectively. This capability is essential for reaching communities that lack easy access to healthcare services.

Taarvish Akbhar, board chair of Diabetes Fiji, expressed gratitude for the support from the Asco Foundation, stating that the vehicle will play a crucial role in helping the organization fulfill its mission of educating and assisting individuals affected by diabetes. “It will allow us to extend our reach and provide much-needed services to our communities, ultimately improving the quality of life for many individuals,” he said.

The donation aligns with Asco Foundation’s tradition of giving back to the community and is part of broader efforts to promote health and wellness. Kumar highlighted the belief that corporate responsibility goes beyond business, encapsulating a commitment to building healthier communities. “By partnering with organizations like Diabetes Fiji, we aim to make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve,” he added.
