World Rugby and Asahi Breweries Ltd have revealed that Asahi Super Dry will serve as the title sponsor and official beer for the upcoming Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup, set to begin this Friday.

Asahi is set to play a pivotal role in promoting the six-team men’s international tournament, which runs from August 23 to September 21. The competition has been revamped to enhance high performance, fan interaction, and revenue generation, positioning it as a major feature in the yearly rugby calendar.

The Asahi Group has been a strong advocate for rugby, having played a crucial part in delivering Rugby World Cup France 2023, the most commercially successful rugby event to date, as a Worldwide Partner. Asahi’s title sponsorship of this prestigious annual rugby event is a natural step forward, underscoring their ongoing commitment to rugby on a global scale.

A new website has been launched for the event, presenting the Asahi Super Dry brand, along with editorial content, statistics, and results to engage fans in the tournament’s unique cultural atmosphere and rivalries.

The matches section of the website provides kick-off times for the 11 games, including the semi-finals and final, which will take place in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan. Fans can also look forward to ticket sales in their respective territories.

The Pacific Nations Cup 2024 will be accessible for viewing worldwide, either through local broadcasting partners or on RugbyPass TV.

World Rugby Chief Executive Alan Gilpin expressed his excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Asahi as the title sponsor of the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup 2024. Their involvement highlights the prestige and global appeal of the tournament, supported by a new format designed to enhance fan engagement, including the introduction of knockout finals in Japan for the first time.”

The tournament will kick off with Fiji facing Samoa at 6 PM at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva this Friday.
