ARMY Green has emerged as the frontrunner in the men’s series standings for the 2025/26 season of the Fiji Bitter 7s Series. With an impressive total of 2,147.9 points, they currently hold the top position as the series heads to Savusavu for its fourth leg next week.
In addition to their series lead, Army Green recently secured the championship title at the Wairiki 7s, the second leg of the series, by defeating Police Blue with a score of 21-5 in the final held last month. Their performance has solidified their status as a strong contender in this year’s series.
Following Army Green in the standings is the Kasabias Village Boys, who are in second place with 2,070.95 points, and Y-Is Kava Vacalea in third with 1,750.85 points. Meanwhile, Police Blue occupies the fourth position with 1,659.1 points, closely followed by the Pegasus Brothers in fifth place at 1,629.6 points. SR Amica stands in sixth with 1,443.05 points, while Wardens Gold rounds out the top seven with 1,330.1 points. The Loloma Heights team from Urata sits eighth with 1,315 points, Lavena Redz from Taveuni is in ninth with 1,210 points, and the Bula Brothers are in tenth place with 993.05 points.
As the competition moves to Ganilau Park in Savusavu, it is anticipated that teams based in Vanua Levu will leverage their home advantage to climb higher in the rankings. Tournament organizer Pita Ralaca highlighted the importance of community involvement and the dedication of Fiji Bitter in maintaining a high-quality sporting event in the region. The tournament will commence next Thursday and conclude on Saturday, February 7, and promises to showcase the skills and passion of local teams, making it a highly anticipated event in the rugby calendar.
