The Army Green rugby team has been intensively refining their defensive strategies as they gear up for the FMF Suva Rugby Escott Shield semi-final, set to take place this weekend.
The identity of their opponent will be revealed today, but the team is prepared to confront whoever enters the field against them.
Joining Army Green in the semi-finals are last year’s champions, Stop Cyber Bullying Police Blue, Fresh’et Navy, and FA & CO Eastern Saints, all of whom have earned their places in this crucial stage of the tournament.
Usa Mataki, the head coach of Army Green, expressed his optimism regarding the team’s readiness for the semi-final encounter.
“The team has been preparing well; the boys are fit and free from injuries,” Mataki stated.
He also reflected on their quarter-final match against Lakeba, noting some key areas for improvement.
“We made several mistakes in our match against Lakeba, which provided us a strong challenge. We have been addressing those errors along with enhancing our defense, scrums, and kicking strategies, as the semi-final will not be an easy task. The boys are eager for the challenge.”
The FMF Suva Rugby Escott Shield semi-final is scheduled for tomorrow.
