The Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) has announced the appointment of Apenisa Dansey as its new Chairman, following a recent Board meeting held at its headquarters. This decision comes in the wake of a no-confidence vote against former Chairman Akuila Masi.

In a statement, FNRL emphasized that the appropriate procedures were enacted during the meeting and noted that matters regarding the Board’s internal discussions will remain confidential. The organization expressed its ongoing commitment to ensuring stability, transparency, and furthering the development of rugby league in Fiji.

Although Dansey has not commented publicly on his new role at this time, he is anticipated to address the media at a press conference scheduled for later this month. FNRL has expressed gratitude to its stakeholders and the public for their understanding during this transition and has promised to provide additional updates during the forthcoming press event.

The leadership change signals a pivotal moment for the FNRL as it seeks to unify its direction and reinforce its dedication to the sport in Fiji.
