ANZ Pacific has announced plans to relocate its Pacific Reconciliations function from Suva to its Group Reconciliations Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru, effective May 2025. Rabih Yazbek, the Country Head for ANZ Bank in Fiji, assured that none of the 17 employees in the Pacific Reconciliation unit would lose their jobs. Instead, they will be offered alternative positions within ANZ Pacific Operations and ANZ Fiji.
Mr. Yazbek emphasized that this transition is designed to streamline processes and leverage advanced technology, ultimately aiming for greater accuracy and efficiency. He acknowledged that while the change might pose challenges for the team, ANZ is committed to supporting its staff through this transition.
In addition to the transition of reconciliation work, ANZ Pacific aims to introduce various new functions, including Know Your Customer processes, Retail Non-Individual Account Opening, and improvements in securities management, signaling a positive future outlook for the region’s operations.
