Rabih Yazbek, the country head for ANZ Group in Fiji, is set to conclude his role in early April to assume a new position as head of Client Coverage for the United Kingdom and Europe. His departure marks the end of a significant chapter during which he helped reinforce the bank’s footprint in Fiji and across the Pacific region, especially in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Under Yazbek’s leadership, ANZ has made strides in both commercial and retail banking, establishing stronger connections with key clients and stakeholders. The bank has seen accelerated digital transformation and robust growth in home lending during his tenure. Sarah Stubbings, the ANZ Pacific regional executive, praised Yazbek’s exceptional contributions, emphasizing that his work has not only bolstered the bank’s operations but also played a vital role in supporting Fiji’s economy during a crucial recovery phase.

Stubbings highlighted his legacy of fostering deep customer relationships and a values-driven culture within the organization, which positions ANZ well for future endeavors. She expressed her gratitude for his dedication and extended best wishes for his next career chapter.

Reflecting on his time in Fiji, Yazbek conveyed his pride in the achievements made alongside his committed team in supporting local customers and communities. He expressed a mix of sadness in leaving the island and enthusiasm for strengthening ANZ’s presence in Europe.

As Yazbek prepares for his new role based in London, ANZ is in the process of appointing a successor for the country head position in Fiji, indicating the continued growth and evolution of the bank’s operations in the Pacific region. This transition points to ongoing optimism for ANZ’s future in both Fiji and abroad.
