ANZ has announced the appointment of Swastika Devi, CPA, as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Pacific, following the transition of Ravendran Achari to the position of CFO for Papua New Guinea. Ms. Devi’s extensive background in finance and leadership spans over two decades. Most recently, she has worked as the Financial Controller for ANZ Pacific, where she managed operations across 11 nations. Her comprehensive expertise includes commercial operations, management and financial accounting, statutory reporting, planning and analysis, and regulatory engagement.
Amanda Owen, ANZ’s Chief Financial Officer for New Zealand, praised Ms. Devi for her vast experience and regional expertise, which align perfectly with the new role. Sarah Stubbings, Regional Executive for the Pacific, also lauded Ms. Devi’s leadership and values-driven approach, emphasizing how these qualities would bolster ANZ’s efforts in supporting communities and enhancing financial resilience across the Pacific.
In her new position as CFO Pacific, Ms. Devi will concentrate on improving financial performance, fortifying regulatory reporting and controls, and aiding the region’s transition to digital banking. A graduate of the University of the South Pacific, Ms. Devi joined CPA Australia in 2008. She is the current President of the CPA Australia Fiji Representee Committee and a former Chairwoman of the Fiji Institute of Bankers. Her contributions extend to various committees within the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants, advocating for financial governance and professional development.
This appointment reflects ANZ’s commitment to leveraging local talent and strengthening its presence in the Pacific. With Ms. Devi’s seasoned financial leadership, the bank is positioned to drive growth and innovation, while supporting community engagement and economic development in the region.
