Authorities in Sakoca have conducted another successful raid, resulting in the arrest of two women linked to illegal drug activity. This operation was carried out by the Serious Organised Crime and Intelligence Department (SOCID) alongside the Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU). It marks the second raid in the area this week, following an earlier incident that led to the arrest of a man for possession of methamphetamine.
In that first case, the man was charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs, and he is now awaiting a court hearing scheduled for February 19, 2025.
During the latest raid, officials uncovered dried leaves, believed to be marijuana, wrapped in aluminum foil. Authorities also seized cash, alcohol, several mobile phones, and a number of items suspected to be stolen. The two women arrested are currently in custody as investigations proceed.
This ongoing crackdown on drug-related crimes highlights the commitment of law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking and maintain community safety. It is a reminder of the importance of vigilance and cooperation among community members to report suspicious activities.
