Ambitious Contestant Aims to Transform Mental Health in Fiji

Melania Tora, a determined contestant vying for the 2024 Miss Hibiscus title, aspires to establish her own rehabilitation center in Fiji aimed at providing free mental health care and support to those in need. The 24-year-old, representing Tents & Awnings, is currently pursuing her master’s degree in psychology at The University of the South Pacific.

She graduated with distinction, earning her Bachelor of Arts and Psychology from Deakin University in Victoria, Australia, and also holds a Diploma in Arts and Psychology from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. Melania’s academic accomplishments and her passion for psychology are propelling her towards a career as a clinical psychologist.

In addition to her educational endeavors, Melania enjoys music and podcasts, staying fit at the gym, and spending time with friends. Her broad interests and commitment to enhancing mental health services in Fiji make her a standout and inspiring contestant in this year’s event.
