Alyssa Farah Griffin Out Sick at Six Months Pregnant as The View Navigates Absences

Alyssa Farah Griffin, cohost of The View, recently provided insight into her absence from the show, revealing that she has been unwell due to a stomach virus while approaching the final months of her pregnancy. The 36-year-old, who is expecting her first child with husband Justin Griffin, made her health struggles known through an Instagram Story where she expressed her hopes of returning to the show soon. “It’s no fun being sick while 6 ½+ months pregnant!” she noted, emphasizing the importance of health precautions during this time of year.

Griffin’s announcement follows a broader trend of absences on The View, which has seen both Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar taking extended breaks recently. Goldberg returned on Monday after spending two weeks filming a guest role in Italy, while Behar had her own hiatus due to an injury she sustained from dropping her iPad on her foot, which resulted in a broken toe.

In October, Griffin shared her joy about the impending arrival of her child after an arduous IVF journey that involved five rounds over the course of a year. “I’m so overjoyed,” she had expressed, celebrating the long-awaited news of her pregnancy.

The current wave of absences among The View’s cohosts highlights the challenges of balancing personal health and professional commitments, especially during significant life events like pregnancy and recovery from injuries. As Griffin prepares for motherhood, her focus on health resonates with anyone navigating similar situations during flu season.
