Aloha Taveuni has emerged as the new Under-21 Fiji Bitter Labasa 7s champions, triumphing over Kasabias Village Boys with a decisive 19–0 scoreline in the final held at Subrail Park yesterday. The team’s impressive performance showcased their strong offense and solid defense, with early tries from Jone Baleivanua and Solo Tavalea giving Aloha a commanding 14–0 lead at halftime.
Despite challenging conditions on the slippery, muddy pitch, both teams displayed determination and resilience. Aloha intensified their game in the second half, quickly extending their lead through a try from Mika Bolo just minutes into the half, bringing the score to 19–0. From that point onward, Aloha maintained control of the match, applying continuous pressure on their opponents to secure a well-deserved victory.
Following the match, coach Malakai Tuleca expressed his gratitude, stating, “Thank God for the win. Without Him we would not have achieved this. I also thank our families and supporters for their continuous support.”
In other notable matches during the tournament, Nasavu Brothers claimed the Under-21 Bowl title by defeating Domoniwai Highlanders 5–0 in a tightly contested final. The match was characterized by a disciplined performance from Nasavu Brothers, allowing them to clinch the Bowl trophy successfully. Meanwhile, the Under-21 Plate title went to St Theresa Nukubalavu, who showcased their skill with a 26–14 victory over RKS Old Boys, demonstrating robust attacking play and poise throughout the game.
