A three-member tribunal has been convened to investigate the suspended Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde, for claims of misconduct. The tribunal will operate this week, with Justice Anare Tuilevuka leading the proceedings, supported by Justices Samuela Qica and Chaitanya Lakshman.
Last week, Pryde communicated with Justice Tuilevuka, expressing his inability to attend the hearing. He raised concerns about the fairness and justice of the tribunal process, arguing that he had been denied the necessary resources to effectively defend himself.
The tribunal’s proceedings are set to commence at 9 AM each day throughout the week.
This investigation highlights the importance of accountability within public institutions and the right to a fair hearing. The outcomes from this tribunal may set a precedent for how similar cases are handled in the future and reinforce the principles of justice that ensure all parties have the opportunity to fully present their cases.
