Former Nadi and national football striker Eswa Nadan is set to lead the AuFFI All Stars in the upcoming Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup, which begins this Thursday at Churchill Park in Lautoka. Known affectionately as “Ninja,” Nadan aims to secure the team’s first title in this annual tournament.
In an interview, Nadan emphasized the extensive preparation that has gone into the four-day event. As hosts, the team feels a sense of responsibility to meet expectations and showcase their best performance. “This year, we are approaching the tournament with a renewed determination to win every match,” he stated. Despite previous near misses in past tournaments, Nadan is optimistic about their prospects, thanks to the hard work put into their preparations.
He credited President Nick Sharma for selecting a talented roster and acknowledged his manager, Moshin Javed Nabi, for bringing in notable guest players. The team boasts a solid mix of young talent and experienced players, some of whom possess National Premier League (NPL) experience.
Fijian fans can look forward to exciting, high-quality football from the AuFFI All Stars. Nadan assured that each match would be taken seriously, as the goal is to triumph in every game. The team will announce their captain on Thursday, right before their first match against Navua, scheduled for 6.15 PM.
This tournament promises to be an exciting showcase of skill and determination, and it’s hopeful that the AuFFI All Stars will rise to the occasion and bring home their first title. Fans can anticipate a thrilling four days of competition as they rally behind their local heroes.
