All Blacks Shuffle Squad: Injury Forces Key Change Ahead of Bledisloe Cup Showdown

Chay Fihaki, a back from the Crusaders, has been named in the All Blacks squad as injury cover for the upcoming second Bledisloe Cup Test against Australia in Wellington. This decision follows the confirmation that All Blacks centre and vice-captain Jordie Barrett will miss the match due to a knee injury. Barrett has been diagnosed with damage to the medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his knee.

At just 23 years old, Fihaki made his Super Rugby Pacific debut under coach Scott Robertson in 2021 and has since demonstrated his versatility by playing on the wing and at fullback. In the 2024 season, he scored four tries in 14 matches for the Crusaders.

The All Blacks are set to face the Wallabies this Saturday at 7.05pm at the Sky Sports Stadium in Wellington.
