Ali Naseri’s Thrilling Journey in Fiji: A Footballer’s Test of Resilience

Calgary-based forward Ali Naseri described the 2024 Rooster Chicken/Scoops Ice-Cream Battle of the Giants tournament as both challenging and exhilarating, offering a stark contrast to his previous football experiences.

In an interview with FijiLive, Nadi’s 18-year-old striker shared insights about the tournament’s high physical demands, stating that it was more intense than what he had encountered at his former clubs.

“It’s physical soccer here in Fiji but I did my best for Nadi FC,” Naseri remarked.

The Afghan national faced a tough situation when an injury scare during a group match forced him to be sidelined, though it fortunately turned out to be minor.

Naseri’s stint with the Jetsetters marks his first foray into Fijian football, an opportunity he values for the lessons it provides and the resilience it requires.

He expressed gratitude to the team’s coaches, management, and fellow players, acknowledging their support and guidance throughout the training sessions and games.
