International footballer Alemoh Moses Alfred has shared his positive experiences during his time in Fiji while participating in the Dayal’s Sawmillers National Club Championship 2025. The Nigerian striker played for 4R FC, which finished as the runner-up after suffering a 3–0 defeat against Northpole FC in the final held at the Fiji FA Academy Ground.
Despite the disappointing outcome, Alfred described the tournament as very rewarding, noting that the final placed demanding expectations on both teams but was ultimately enjoyable. He praised Northpole FC for their exceptional performance, acknowledging their right to the title.
Reflecting on the closely contested match, Alfred emphasized that football often hinges on minor details, and although his team put forth their best effort, the final score did not favor them. Remaining optimistic, he expressed his determination to return even stronger next season with aspirations to clinch the championship trophy.
In addition to the competition itself, Alfred appreciated the chance to play in Fiji, highlighting the supportive environment provided by his teammates, coaching staff, and management throughout the tournament. He remarked on the high level of competition in Fiji, comparing it favorably to that of his home country, Nigeria. He expressed a keen interest in having more opportunities to play in Fiji, which would allow him to showcase the talents of African footballers.
Following the championship match, Northpole FC was rewarded with $4,000 in cash prizes, while 4R FC received $1,500 for their second-place finish. This tournament not only provided thrilling football for the fans but also served as a platform for international talents like Alfred to shine and engage with the local football culture.
