In September, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) reported that more than 25 sexual offences were filed against 10 individuals. The update on serious sexual offences indicated that 25 incidents involved 10 victims, comprised of two males and eight females.
Among the accused, a 20-year-old man has been charged with the rape of his 10-year-old male cousin. Additionally, a 25-year-old man is facing charges for raping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy. The ODPP noted that there were six cases where the victims were related to the accused.
In a separate case, a 45-year-old man was charged with raping his 16-year-old stepdaughter, but the case was discontinued due to lack of evidence. Furthermore, a 28-year-old man has been charged with the rape of his five-year-old niece. Another case involves a 29-year-old man charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault against his 15-year-old niece.
Additionally, a 20-year-old man faces multiple charges, including four counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, two counts of indecent assault, and one count of sexual assault against his 17-year-old cousin. In another incident, a 29-year-old man has been charged with the attempted rape and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl from his village, while a 20-year-old man is accused of raping an 11-year-old girl from his village.
Two cases were discontinued after Nolle Prosequi was filed due to insufficient evidence, and the victims could not be located.
