Motorists experienced significant delays at Nadi International Airport yesterday due to a vehicle fire resulting from a collision. According to police spokesperson Constable Wame Batutolu, the incident occurred at 10:30 am when two vehicles collided, leading one that was traveling toward Lautoka to ignite.
The 61-year-old driver, who was en route to Lautoka, reportedly failed to yield to another vehicle that was making a turn at the roundabout going to Nadi Airport after returning from Sabeto. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the accident.
In related news, traffic lights in the area have been malfunctioning for some time, with traffic being directed using cones. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
