Post Fiji has officially unveiled AgroPost, an innovative service tailored to enhance agricultural supply chains for farmers in Fiji. This initiative, led by the Australian Government and supported by its Market Development Facility (MDF), aims to link rural farmers with essential agricultural inputs, making them accessible through Fiji’s national postal network.
During the launch event held on Thursday, Post Fiji’s CEO Isaac Mow underscored the critical role AgroPost plays in promoting rural development and bolstering Fiji’s economy. “AgroPost is more than a service—it’s a commitment to our farmers, ensuring they have timely access to the seeds, tools, and resources they need to thrive,” Mow stated, recognizing the partnership with the Australian Government and MDF that made the project possible.
Australian High Commission counsellor Andrew Shepherd spoke about AgroPost’s broader impact on Fiji’s agricultural landscape. He noted that the service connects farmers to reliable suppliers and markets, facilitating inclusive growth and promoting climate-smart farming practices. Additionally, he highlighted the program’s commitment to empowering women, individuals with disabilities, and farmers in remote areas of Fiji.
AgroPost’s effectiveness is further enhanced by strategic partnerships with key suppliers such as Organic Plus Fiji, which provides eco-friendly liquid compost, AgGrow Ltd, renowned for its seeds, and Krishan Farm Implements, specializing in farm machinery. These collaborations ensure that farmers can access high-quality and sustainable agricultural products.
AgroPost is now fully operational at Post Fiji outlets across the nation, marking a significant step forward in supporting Fijian agriculture and fostering a more resilient farming community. This initiative not only aims to improve the livelihoods of farmers but also positions Fiji’s agricultural sector for sustainable growth in the years ahead.
