Adi Akisi Ravoka is resolute in her ambition to further her education and realize her dreams. The 28-year-old from Drauniivi Village in Ra celebrated her graduation yesterday, earning a Certificate in Automotive Mechanical Engineering from the Pacific Polytech Campus in Tagitagi, Tavua. She was part of a graduating class of 130 students from the institution, marking a notable achievement in her personal journey.
As a mother of three, Ms. Ravoka is currently an attache at the Yaqara Pastoral Company in Tavua. Reflecting on her educational milestone, the former student of Vatukaloko Secondary School expressed that this qualification is a crucial stepping stone towards a brighter future. “While growing up, I always aspired to be a teacher, but I encountered numerous obstacles and challenges,” she shared. Despite these hurdles, Ms. Ravoka remains undeterred in her pursuit of her dreams.
She believes her education has significantly broadened her prospects. “The skills and knowledge I have gained here will enable me to contribute effectively in any professional setting,” she stated. Her ambitions extend beyond her current achievements; she aspires to continue her studies in this field and ultimately teach automotive engineering, aiming to inspire future students like herself.
Ms. Ravoka also recounted the difficulties she faced, including the challenges of balancing work, family, and financial pressures. “Juggling time with my children, work, and studies was tough. There were times when I missed classes due to financial issues, but I never surrendered to those challenges,” she explained. She attributes her success to her faith, her grandmother’s support, and her children.
“I thank God and dedicate this achievement to my grandmother and my children,” Ms. Ravoka said. She also offered a powerful message to single mothers: “Do not let your present circumstances define your future. There is a bright future ahead for you and your children. Never give up on your dreams.”
