After six years of hard work, Avisaki Buirokotuiloma has completed her Bachelor of Education at the University of the South Pacific. With parents who supported her financially, Ms. Buirokotuiloma also took on jobs to help fund her education. Walking across the graduation stage on Friday was a moment she had long dreamed of.
Ms. Buirokotuiloma faced significant financial challenges while pursuing her degree. “There were times when I considered giving up, but my parents’ encouragement kept me going,” she shared. “I’m incredibly thankful for the prayers and support from my family; their help made this possible.”
Throughout her studies, Ms. Buirokotuiloma balanced her academic responsibilities with part-time work at home. Despite the difficulties, her determination to succeed never wavered. She realized that having the right information and support was crucial in overcoming her challenges.
Hailing from Navuniyasi in Naitasiri, her aspiration of becoming a teacher is now a reality. She has always envisioned herself in a classroom, and this vision is now coming to fruition. “With this degree, I will be able to secure stable employment and contribute to my family,” she said. “It’s never too late, and I’m thrilled that I’ve finally achieved this.”
