Rumors circulated over the weekend suggesting a new romance between Ben Affleck and Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy, but a representative for the actor has dismissed these claims as false.
“The rumors are not true,” Affleck’s spokesperson, Jen Allen, told Fox News Digital.
Reports earlier in the week from multiple sources indicated that Affleck and Kennedy, allegedly connected since spring, have been “spending time together.” An insider mentioned that Kennedy, one of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s children, has had a longstanding crush on Affleck.
Kennedy’s past romantic links include Paul Simon’s son, Harper Simon, and the late banking heir Matthew Mellon. Although Affleck appears to be handling the situation well, he is reportedly not fully ready to move on yet.
In recent photographs, Affleck was seen smiling and in good spirits while collecting a food delivery outside his rental home in Los Angeles, a change from his often irritated appearance in paparazzi shots.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on Tuesday in Los Angeles County Court, citing “irreconcilable differences” and listing their separation date as April 26. She has stated that neither party will seek spousal support, according to court documents. This filing coincides with the two-year anniversary of their wedding ceremony in Georgia.
Affleck and Lopez, who first became engaged in 2002 after meeting on the set of “Gigli,” were set to marry in 2004, but the wedding was called off. Two decades later, they surprised fans by marrying in Las Vegas.
