A 20-year-old man is set to appear at the Labasa Magistrates Court today on charges of alleged sexual assault against a 7-year-old girl.
On the evening of June 27, the man, known to the family, had offered to take the child from her grandfather’s home to her mother after she awoke crying. During the journey, he is alleged to have sexually assaulted the young girl before bringing her home.
The incident came to light when the girl informed her mother, who then reported it to the Nabouwalu Police Station. The accused faces one count of sexual assault.
