National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad has expressed his admiration for Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, highlighting his friendship and fairness during a speech at the Party Convention in Sigatoka.
Prof Prasad noted that the Prime Minister has consistently offered support during his personal challenges within the Government. He emphasized that this type of leadership is promising for both the future of the Government and the nation as efforts are made to enhance governance.
He acknowledged that their political partnership, characterized by solidarity and collaboration, predates their time in Government and is expected to last for many years.
Addressing the challenges of working within a coalition, Prof Prasad admitted there are instances where the three parties involved may disagree, sometimes publicly. However, he stressed the importance of mutual respect, stating that despite differences, their democratic principles allow for open discussions.
Prof Prasad remarked that while political partners may not always see eye to eye, respecting each other’s viewpoints is vital for building trust. He reflected on the need to foster trust in the country after years of a government that lacked confidence in its citizens.
