National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad has expressed his appreciation for Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, highlighting his friendship and fairness. During the Party Convention held in Sigatoka, Prasad acknowledged the Prime Minister’s unwavering support during his personal challenges within the government.

“This leadership is promising for the future of both our government and our nation as we strive to enhance our administration and our country,” Prasad stated. He also recognized the importance of the political partnership that was established prior to their time in government and expressed confidence that it would last for many years.

Prasad acknowledged the difficulties of working within a coalition, admitting that the three parties do not always see eye to eye on certain issues, occasionally leading to public disagreements.

“We anticipate that. Each of us engages in politics for various reasons, representing different constituents with diverse priorities. However, even amid public disagreements, we maintain respect for one another. We are all committed democrats, and we express our views openly. Like mature adults, we can have differing opinions while showing mutual respect,” he explained.

He emphasized the importance of respecting coalition partners and their perspectives, stating, “We do not always get our way. But if you are part of a coalition government, you must always respect your partners and their viewpoints. Respect fosters trust. After years of a government that lacked trust, we are working to rebuild it in our nation,” concluded Prof Prasad.
