Fiji’s rugby community is in mourning following the passing of Reverend Tuikoro Kolinisau, the esteemed father of Fiji Men’s 7s head coach Osea Kolinisau, who died on February 14 at the age of 63. The funeral service, held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, was a deeply emotional occasion, where Osea shared a heartfelt eulogy, saying, “Ta I love you, I miss you so much.” At the time of his father’s death, Osea was in Vancouver with the Fiji 7s team, highlighting the profound impact Reverend Kolinisau had on his life and career, particularly in rugby.
Reverend Kolinisau, revered as the founder of the Kingdom Ambassador International Fellowship, was characterized by his unwavering faith, integrity, and commitment to his community. His life touched many, with family, friends, and numerous members of the rugby community coming together to honor him. Dignitaries, including Minister for Lands Filimoni Vosarogo and Opposition Leader Inia Seruiratu, attended the service, reflecting the high regard in which he was held.
Osea paid tribute to his father’s influence on his achievements, notably leading his team to victory at the 2016 Olympics, asserting that every success was rooted in his father’s guidance. As Reverend Kolinisau is laid to rest at Vatuwaqa Cemetery, his legacy of faith and community service lives on, serving as an inspiration to many.
