A New Era for Fiji: Promises of Freedom and Unity

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad, has stated that the current Government has fulfilled its commitment to restore freedom to the people of Fiji by ending the oppressive rule of two leaders.

While addressing the National Federation Party Annual Convention, Prof Prasad emphasized the Government’s efforts to rebuild a democratic and accountable system in Fiji. He noted that the party has honored its promise to eliminate fear and intimidation while also committing to listening and consulting with the public.

Prof Prasad urged party members to rally behind this process and maintain their support for the government as they strive to improve Fiji. He highlighted that the National Federation Party is the oldest political party in Fiji, which has endured through challenges while other parties have disappeared.

The party’s longevity, he explained, is rooted in a shared belief in the improvement of Fiji. They advocate for unity and peace, aiming to assist the most disadvantaged members of society to enhance their quality of life. Prof Prasad expressed the party’s dedication to providing honest and compassionate leadership that aims to make Fiji stronger, better, and more resilient.

He concluded by declaring their commitment to building a better Fiji, one that embodies a more equal and just society.
