A new 40-room hotel by Damodar Group is set to enhance tourism and accommodation options in Labasa town. This hotel is part of the larger Damodar City Labasa initiative, which represents a $60 million commercial development investment by Damodar North Pte Limited, with $10 million specifically allocated for the hotel’s construction and setup.
Div Damodar, the CEO of Damodar Group, noted that the introduction of this branded hotel would likely attract other brands to Labasa, signaling the beginning of a new era in tourism and accommodation for Vanua Levu. He emphasized that the presence of Ramada Encore in Labasa could foster a surge in local tourism and the development of additional tourist activities, particularly in the scenic areas surrounding Labasa.
The new Ramada Encore by Wyndham – Labasa Damodar City hotel will feature 40 well-appointed rooms, catering to both business and leisure travelers. Guests can take advantage of various amenities, including a conference venue, swimming pool, gym, outdoor seating, entertainment space, restaurants, and bars, all designed to provide a premium accommodation experience aligned with the global standards of the Ramada Encore brand.
Looking ahead, Mr. Damodar mentioned potential tourism ventures in Labasa, such as hiking tours, river safaris, and fishing excursions. The Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Manoa Kamikamica, stated that the introduction of Ramada Encore positions Labasa as a growing hospitality hub and acknowledged the Fijian Government’s commitment to promoting investment and development in the region.
The Ramada Encore by Wyndham – Labasa Damodar City hotel is anticipated to open its doors by the end of this year.
