A Mother’s Miracle: How One Hospital Changed Everything for a Daughter with RHD

Maria Sauvou expresses deep gratitude to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital, crediting it with saving her daughter from the struggles of Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD). Her daughter, Ulamila Naivalu, was diagnosed with RHD at just one year old.

“It has been a long and challenging 15 years for us. I am so relieved that Ulamila had a successful operation on Thursday,” Ms. Sauvou shared. “It felt like a heavy burden has been lifted. Now, my daughter can live freely.”

She added, “We no longer have to worry about sleepless nights, pain, or constant injections.” Despite the challenges, Ms. Sauvou worked hard to create a supportive environment for Ulamila, speaking encouragingly during tough times.

“There were moments when Ulamila showed signs of her heart weakening, and I would rush her to the hospital for her injections. Those were really tough times for both of us,” she recounted. “However, with family support and continuous prayers, Ulamila persevered.”

For many years, Ms. Sauvou searched for options, knowing that surgery was their only hope. Ulamila was admitted to the Sai Prema Children Hospital, which brought light into their challenging journey.

“When I first learned of her diagnosis, I felt as though the world had let me down,” she recalled emotionally. “I lost hope, but then I discovered Sai Prema Children Hospital.”

Ms. Sauvou expressed her gratitude that such facilities exist to care for children with this condition. “Like many parents, we feel blessed by this foundation; it truly feels like a miracle.”

She urges other parents not to hesitate in seeking medical checks for their children. “We are not wealthy, but I believe God answers prayers, guiding us to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital.”

She praised the staff and medical team, stating, “They were incredibly helpful and made Ulamila feel at home. The atmosphere is truly comforting.”
