A Mother’s Hope: How One Hospital Changed Everything

Maria Sauvou expresses deep gratitude to the Sai Prema Foundation Hospital for helping her daughter, Ulamila Naivalu, who has struggled with Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) since she was just one year old. After 15 challenging years, Ulamila, now 16, underwent a successful operation, bringing relief to Ms. Sauvou.

“It felt like a heavy burden had been lifted from my shoulders. My daughter can now live freely,” Ms. Sauvou remarked, highlighting the end of her worries regarding her daughter’s condition. “No more sleepless nights, no more pain, no more injections,” she added.

Despite the hardships, Ms. Sauvou maintained a positive environment, encouraging Ulamila during difficult times. She often rushed her daughter to the hospital when signs of weakness appeared, demonstrating the intensity of their struggles.

For several years, Ms. Sauvou sought surgical options, realizing that surgery was Ulamila’s only chance for a better life. When they arrived at the Sai Prema Children Hospital, Ms. Sauvou felt a renewed sense of hope.

“I initially felt completely overwhelmed when I learned about her diagnosis,” she shared. “But the Sai Prema Children Hospital changed everything for us. I am genuinely grateful for such facilities that focus specifically on children with RHD.”

She encourages other parents not to hesitate in seeking medical check-ups for their children, no matter their financial situation, as divine guidance led them to the foundation. “The staff and medical team were incredibly supportive, making Ulamila feel at home in a comforting environment,” she noted.
