Maria Sauvou expresses her profound gratitude to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital, stating that without it, her daughter would still be facing challenges related to Rheumatic Heart Disease.
Her 16-year-old daughter, Ulamila Naivalu, received her diagnosis of RHD at the age of one. “It has been a long and difficult 15 years for us. I am incredibly thankful that on Thursday she had a successful operation,” Ms. Sauvou shared.
She described the relief she felt, saying, “It was as if a heavy burden was lifted from my back. My daughter can now live freely.” She added, “No more worries, no more sleepless nights, no more pain, no more injections.”
Despite the challenges, Ms. Sauvou worked hard to create a positive environment for Ulamila, providing encouragement during tough times. “At times, Ulamila showed signs of her heart weakening, and I would quickly take her to the hospital for her injection. It was a very tough period for both of us, especially for her,” she recounted.
Through the support of family and their unwavering prayers, Ulamila persevered despite the hardships.
For many years, Ms. Sauvou searched for viable options, ultimately realizing that surgery was the only hope for her daughter. Ulamila was admitted to the Sai Prema Children Hospital, where her journey took a positive turn.
“When I first learned of her RHD diagnosis, I felt as though the world had let me down. I was overwhelmed with emotion knowing she was so young, and I lost all hope. But then Sai Prema Children Hospital came into our lives,” Ms. Sauvou stated.
She expressed her gratitude for facilities like this that specifically cater to children suffering from such conditions. “Like many parents, we are truly blessed by this foundation; it feels like a miracle,” she added.
Ms. Sauvou encourages other parents not to hesitate in seeking check-ups for their children, saying, “We are not wealthy, but God answers prayers. He guided us to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital.”
She praised the hospital staff and medical team for their compassion, noting how they made Ulamila feel comfortable. “It is truly a comforting setting,” she concluded.
