A Miracle of Hope: One Mother’s Journey to Save Her Daughter from Heart Disease

Maria Sauvou expresses her deep gratitude to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital, which has significantly changed the life of her daughter, Ulamila Naivalu, who has battled Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) since the age of one. After enduring a challenging 15-year journey, Ulamila, now 16, recently underwent a successful operation.

“We felt a heavy burden lifted from our shoulders,” Ms. Sauvou said, relieved that her daughter can now lead a more liberated life without the constant fear and discomfort associated with her illness. “No more worries, sleepless nights, pain, or injections,” she added.

Throughout Ulamila’s struggles, Ms. Sauvou maintained a supportive environment, offering positive reinforcement during tough times. When her daughter’s heart condition showed signs of deterioration, she quickly sought medical attention, understanding the gravity of the situation. Despite the hardships, the family remained resilient, finding strength in each other and through their faith.

For years, Ms. Sauvou sought options for her daughter’s condition, with surgery being the ultimate hope. She found solace in the care provided at the Sai Prema Children Hospital. “When I first learned about Ulamila’s RHD, I felt as though the world had failed us,” she reflected, recalling the emotional turmoil of that moment. However, the arrival of Sai Prema Children Hospital brought a glimmer of hope during their darkest times.

“I am truly thankful for institutions like this that focus on treating children with such serious illnesses. This foundation is a miracle for families like ours,” she said.

Ms. Sauvou encourages other parents to seek medical check-ups for their children without hesitation. “We may not have much, but God answers prayers. He led us to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital,” she noted, praising the supportive staff and medical team who made Ulamila feel at ease in their care. “It’s a comforting environment,” she concluded.
