Maria Sauvou expresses deep gratitude towards the Sai Prema Foundation hospital, crediting it for saving her daughter from the hardships of Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD). Her 16-year-old daughter, Ulamila Naivalu, was diagnosed with RHD at just one year old.
“It has been a long and challenging 15 years for us. I am incredibly thankful that Ulamila underwent a successful operation on Thursday,” Ms. Sauvou shared. “It felt as if a heavy burden was lifted from my shoulders. Now, my daughter can live freely.”
She reflected on the struggles of the past, mentioning a life free from constant worry, sleepless nights, and painful injections for her daughter. Despite the difficulties, Ms. Sauvou focused on maintaining a positive environment and offered words of encouragement to help Ulamila through tough times.
“There were moments when Ulamila showed signs of her heart weakening, prompting me to rush her to the hospital for her injections. Those were truly hard times for both of us,” she recalled. With the unwavering support of family and consistent prayers, Ulamila fought through her challenges.
For years, Ms. Sauvou searched for options, realizing that surgery was the only solution. Ulamila’s journey led her to the Sai Prema Children Hospital. “Upon learning about her RHD diagnosis, I felt as though the world had let me down. I was overwhelmed with emotion, knowing how young she is. Initially, I lost all hope until the Sai Prema Children Hospital came into our lives,” she stated.
She expressed profound gratitude for institutions like Sai Prema that specialize in treating children with such diseases. “Like many parents, we are so blessed by this foundation. It truly feels like a miracle,” she added.
Ms. Sauvou urges other parents not to hesitate in seeking check-ups for their children. “We are not affluent, but God answers prayers. He guided us to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital,” she encouraged. “The staff and medical team were incredibly supportive, making Ulamila feel at home in what is truly a comforting environment.”
