Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka attended the Davuilevu Crematorium to bid farewell to Diwan Chand Maharaj, the founder of Quality Print PTE Limited, one of Fiji’s largest printing companies. The Prime Minister reflected on Maharaj’s life, highlighting his dedication to love and friendship—values that he instilled in his family and the broader community.

Maharaj was not only a successful entrepreneur, co-founding Sun Insurance PTE Limited in 1999, but he also significantly contributed to various charitable organizations. He helped establish the Kidney Foundation of Fiji and was an active member of the Rotary Club since 1990. Additionally, he served as the national president of the Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji.

Prime Minister Rabuka acknowledged Maharaj’s participation in significant events, including the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, which he had also attended. He described Maharaj as a devoted family man, a loving grandfather, and a prominent mentor. In his tribute, Rabuka expressed, “Moce to’a mada Diwan, may your soul rest in peace.”

Despite the somber occasion, this tribute serves as a reminder of the deep impact one individual can have on their community through both business endeavors and charitable work. Maharaj’s legacy of compassion and community service continues to inspire.
