Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka recently attended the farewell ceremony for the late Diwan Chand Maharaj at the Davuilevu Crematorium, where he joined family and friends to honor his memory. Diwan Chand was a prominent figure in Fiji, best known as the founder of Quality Print PTE Limited, one of the largest printing companies in the country.

During the service, the Prime Minister highlighted the core values that Diwan exemplified throughout his life, particularly emphasizing love and friendship. These virtues were not only pivotal in his own family but also served as a guiding light for the wider community, reflecting a legacy marked by charity and compassion.

In addition to his business achievements, Diwan co-founded Sun Insurance PTE Limited in 1999 and was instrumental in establishing the Kidney Foundation of Fiji. He was deeply involved in community service, having participated in several charitable organizations. His commitment to service was evident through his long-standing membership in the Rotary Club since 1990 and his role as the national president of the Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji.

Rabuka fondly remembered Diwan attending the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, an occasion he also had the honor of attending. He described Diwan as a devoted family man, a loving grandfather, and an inspiring mentor.

“Moce to’a mada Diwan, may your soul rest in peace,” said Rabuka, as he concluded his tribute.

This tribute not only reflects on the significant impact Diwan had on his family and community but also serves as a reminder of the ideals of love, friendship, and charity that can unify and uplift society. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations to engage in charitable acts and community service.

In a world where such values are increasingly vital, Diwan Chand Maharaj’s life serves as a beacon of hope and encouragement for individuals to contribute positively to their communities.
