Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka emphasizes that Christmas is a period of joy, reflection, and renewal. In his festive message to the nation, he noted that this time of year serves as a reminder of the love and hope brought to the world through Christ’s birth.

Rabuka highlighted that this Christmas also represents the midpoint of their journey within the People’s Coalition Government. He expressed that leading The People’s Alliance, the majority partner in this coalition, has been both a privilege and a significant responsibility. As they reach this milestone, he reflects on their collective journey and the work that remains.

Acknowledging the challenges of governing a coalition, Rabuka compared their journey to that of the three wise men, who faced obstacles on their way to meet the newborn King. He stressed the importance of perseverance, unity, and trust, all of which are essential for meaningful change.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the concept of forgiveness, stating it is central to the season. He urged Fijians to embrace the spirit of forgiveness, as it helps heal divisions and strengthen bonds within the community. Drawing inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi, he emphasized that true leadership means serving others, a principle he holds dear in his role.

In his message, Rabuka reiterated the commitment of The People’s Alliance and their coalition partners to serve the people of Fiji with transparency and dedication. He called on everyone to take responsibility during this festive season, celebrating safely and remembering those who are less fortunate.

As they prepare for the Advent season, he encouraged individuals to have faith and courage while looking ahead with optimism, allowing the hope that began in Bethlehem to guide them into the new year. He concluded by wishing that the light of Christmas fills homes with love and hearts with peace, fostering a sense of unity and steadfast purpose among the Fijian people.

This message serves as a call to action for all Fijians to come together in hope and service, reinforcing the belief in community strength during this sacred season. It is a reminder that by supporting each other, they can pave the way for a brighter future for all.
