A 70-year-old man has been charged with the indecent assault of a 12-year-old girl and is set to appear in the Magistrate Court in Navua today. According to police reports, the incident allegedly took place at the man’s residence on the afternoon of August 9, 2024.
The accused and the victim are said to live in the same community, and the matter was brought to the attention of the Navua Police by the victim’s uncle. The man faces one count of indecent assault, violating Section 212 (1) of the Crimes Act 2009.
