70-Year-Old Man Charged in Shocking Assault Case

A 70-year-old man has been charged and is set to appear in Navua Magistrates Court today for allegedly indecently assaulting a 12-year-old girl. The incident is reported to have occurred at his home on the afternoon of August 9, 2024. Both the accused and the victim live in the same community. The victim’s uncle was the one who reported the matter to the Navua Police. The man faces one count of Indecent Assault, in violation of Section 212 (1) of the Crimes Act 2009.
