A total of 59 teams from Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada are set to compete in the football tournament at the 10th Sanatan World Cup in Sydney next month. The event will take place over four days, running from September 26 to 29, at the Blacktown Spartan Sporting Complex.
The competition will feature 17 teams from Fiji, 24 from Australia, 14 from New Zealand, and two each from the USA and Canada. In the Fijian contingent, eight teams will participate in the Premiers division, six in the Over 40s, and three in the Over 45s divisions.
Fijian teams in the Premiers division include Labasa, Lomawai, Narere/Makoi, Suva, Sigatoka, Nadi, Nakasi, and Ulusila Yadua. The Over 40s category will see Labasa, Nadi, Sigatoka, Lautoka, Lomawai, and Labasa Viti competing, while Nasinu, Nadroga, and Lautoka will represent Fiji in the Over 45s division.
From Australia, seven teams will compete in the Premiers division, another seven in the Over 40s, three in the Over 45s, and seven in the Over 50s divisions. New Zealand will have seven teams in the Premiers, two in the Over 40s, four in the Over 45s, and one in the Over 50s.
The USA will be represented in the Over 40s category by USA Masters and USA Island Boys Sanatan, while Canada will feature Coral Coast Canada Sanatan and Viti Boys Canada Sanatan in the Over 50s division.
The tournament will be divided into several groups across various divisions:
Premiers:
Group A: Sydney Suva Sanatan, Queensland Sanatan Brothers, NZ Waitakere Sanatan, Labasa Sanatan, and Lomawai Sanatan.
Group B: Victoria Sanatan, Sydney Rewa Sanatan, NZ Nadroga Sanatan, Narere/Makoi Sanatan, and Suva Sanatan.
Group C: Queensland Sanatan, Wellington Sanatan, NZ Sanatan All Stars, and Sigatoka.
Group D: Canberra Sanatan, Wellington City Sanatan, NZ Sanatan, and Nadi.
Group E: Sydney Ba Sanatan, NZ Ba Sanatan, Nakasi, and Ulusila Yadua Sanatan.
Over 40s:
Group A: Adelaide Sanatan, Sydney Navua Sanatan, NZ Nadroga Sanatan, and Labasa Sanatan.
Group B: Sydney Sanatan, Queensland Sanatan, USA Masters Sanatan, Nadi Sanatan, and Sigatoka Sanatan.
Group C: Canberra Sanatan, Melbourne Sanatan, USA Island Boys Sanatan, and Lautoka Sanatan.
Group D: Sydney Labasa, Wellington City Sanatan, Lomawai Sanatan, and Labasa Viti Sanatan.
Over 45s:
Group A: Sydney Toso Suva Sanatan, Victoria Sanatan, NZ Rewa Sanatan, NZ Tavua Sanatan, and Nasinu Sanatan.
Group B: Sydney Navua Sanatan, NZ Nadroga Sanatan, NZ Lautoka Veterans Sanatan, Nadroga Sanatan Legends, and Lautoka Sanatan.
Over 50s:
Group A: Sydney Nadroga Sanatan, Sydney Bua Sanatan, Queensland Legends Sanatan, Australian Sanatan, and Viti Boys Canada Sanatan.
Group B: Sydney Lautoka Blues Sanatan, Sydney Nadi Masters Sanatan, Queensland Masters Sanatan, Coral Coast Canada Sanatan, and NZ Legends Sanatan.
