$43.1 Million Boost for Students: Back-to-School Support Unveiled!

The Ministry of Finance has confirmed the successful disbursement of $43.1 million in Back-to-School Support, benefiting 213,520 students across the nation through platforms such as MPAiSA, MyCASH, and Post Fiji outlets. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on families preparing for the 2025 school year, which commences on January 27.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Finance announced that the application period for this support has now officially closed. They expressed sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Education, school administrators, teachers, students, parents, and guardians for their collaboration during the application process.

This year’s program has continued to build on previous efforts, where earlier distributions offered significant assistance to families. The initiative has historically involved similar funding allocations to support educational needs, highlighting the government’s ongoing investment of around $130 million annually for educational assistance, which has positively impacted approximately 200,000 students each year.

This financial aid, distributed ahead of schedule, provides families with crucial resources to cover essential expenses like uniforms and stationery, ensuring that students can embark on their academic journeys equipped for success. The proactive actions of the government demonstrate a commitment to enhancing educational accessibility and readiness for all families.

The collaboration observed throughout the process underscores the community’s dedication to educational success, empowering students with the necessary tools to thrive in their studies.
