The Ministry of Finance has disbursed approximately $42.9 million to support the education of 212,017 students in the Back to School Support initiative for the upcoming 2025 school year. This financial assistance aims to alleviate the burden on families as they prepare for the new academic year.

However, some parents have faced challenges receiving their payments in the initial batch due to issues with their applications. These issues included incorrect or unregistered mobile numbers, incorrect birth registration numbers, and other inaccuracies or incomplete information in the submitted forms. Additionally, some were awaiting confirmation of Year 13 enrollment.

In a collaborative effort to resolve these issues, the Ministry of Finance is working closely with the Ministry of Education to assist affected parents. Following the first payment batch, the Ministry has issued four additional payment batches aimed at addressing application discrepancies. A final payment batch is planned for release once all outstanding applications are correctly processed.

This initiative not only underscores the government’s commitment to supporting education but also highlights the importance of accurate application submissions to ensure that all eligible students receive their intended support. With continued cooperation between the ministries, it is hopeful that every child will have access to necessary resources for a successful school year.
