Low-income families are benefiting from enhanced access to safe and secure housing thanks to the ongoing initiatives of the Public Rental Board, which continues to broaden affordable rental options for at-risk communities.

In a significant development, the Prime Minister officially inaugurated 36 newly completed flats at the Public Rental Board’s Lagilagi Estate in Raiwaqa in January 2025. This project is an important step in providing decent accommodations at manageable rental rates for families who might otherwise struggle to find stable housing.

The Board’s housing program aims to elevate living standards while alleviating pressure on informal settlements. By offering quality rental units at affordable prices, this initiative fosters healthier, more stable communities and ensures that low-income earners have access to proper housing.

Construction is progressing steadily, with an additional 16 flats expected to be completed and ready for occupancy before the end of July this year. This expansion signifies the Board’s ongoing commitment to inclusive housing solutions and its effort to create more opportunities for families to secure a safe place to call home.

The dedication to improving housing availability for vulnerable populations not only enhances individual well-being but also contributes to the overall prosperity of the community. The Public Rental Board’s initiatives underscore the importance of ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to live in a safe and supportive environment.
