World Rugby has officially announced the complete schedule for the 2025 Pacific Nations Cup, which is set to take place from August 22 to September 20. This edition marks the second year of an expanded format that is rapidly gaining significance in international rugby.

The competition will feature six nations: Canada, Fiji, Japan, Samoa, Tonga, and the USA. Teams will not only compete for the prestigious title but also vie for a direct qualification spot for the 2027 Men’s Rugby World Cup to be hosted in Australia.

A noteworthy development this year is the decision to host the Final Series in the United States, emphasizing the growing role of USA Rugby as it prepares to stage both the Men’s and Women’s Rugby World Cups in 2031 and 2033. The Flying Fijians will commence their campaign on August 30 with a home match against rivals Tonga in Suva, followed by a match against Samoa on September 6 in New Zealand.

The tournament is formatted into two pools designed to minimize travel and enhance player recovery. Pool A will include Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga, while Pool B will consist of Canada, Japan, and the USA. Each team is assured at least three matches throughout the tournament, providing ample opportunity for fan engagement and the promotion of rugby across their regions.

As anticipation builds, the 2025 Pacific Nations Cup is expected to be a thrilling showcase of talent and competition, culminating in a captivating final series that promises to uplift the sport on a global scale. With this competition, World Rugby continues to emphasize the importance of inclusivity and competitiveness in the realm of international rugby. Fans around the world can look forward to an exciting month of high-stakes rugby action.
