A new champion will be determined in the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) in Lautoka this weekend, as the defending champions Ba have been eliminated after a 1-1 draw with Rewa in their final group match.
The team, coached by Timoci Seru, had a disappointing tournament, managing only two points and netting just one goal across three matches. Ba needed to secure a victory by at least two goals to advance.
Rewa took an early lead with a free-kick from Patrick Joseph in the third minute, but Nabil Begg equalized just eight minutes later with a penalty. This outcome allows Nadi to progress to the semifinals on Saturday.
Rewa, backed by Extra Supermarket, advances as the Group B winner and will compete in the second semifinal, while Mahijibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi finishes as the runner-up and will participate in the first semifinal.
