A new champion will be determined in the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) in Lautoka this weekend, as the defending champions Ba were eliminated after a 1-1 draw against Rewa during their final group match. Coached by Timoci Seru, Ba had a lackluster performance throughout the tournament, earning just two points and scoring a single goal across three matches.
Before the match, Ba needed to secure a victory by at least two goals. Unfortunately for them, Rewa took the lead early with a free-kick from Patrick Joseph in the third minute. Ba equalized shortly after when Nabil Begg converted a penalty in the 11th minute.
This outcome allowed Nadi to advance to the semifinals, which are set to take place on Saturday. Rewa, supported by Extra Supermarket, topped Group B and will compete in the second semifinal, while Mahijibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi, finishing as the runner-up, will participate in the first semifinal.
